a little less white could do the trick

Someone finally came by today to clean and paint my walls. Hooray, that only took like what? 2 weeks? (stupid, stupid insurance. i hope you will have to live with a smelly and greasy kitchen for that long yourself one day).
The guy in charge and I have been through a long colour debate already. I am fully aware of the fact that, when it comes to colours, I am not the easiest person, but seriously if I show you a fabric of the colour I want - yellow with a little orange in it - how in the world can you end up with something that looks like lemon-mousse?
I think we are on the right track now (at least I hope so).
Then again... him saying "But the red you want is red, right?" and me answering "Huh, there are tons of different reds..." leaves much room for more discussions.

nature's own colour-weirdness

light more light

We have some wonderful colours here. I was on my way to my parents (and luckily had my Mom's digital camera with me) and just had to stop to take some pictures. It started raining while I was taking the one on the right and I had to hurry back to the car. No photoshop-manipulation - that's pretty much how it looked like.

living in a spider house

I believe that it is appropriate to say 'happy new year' all throughout January....
Happy New Year, all!

Remember how I wrote about how much 2004 sucks? Well, 2005 felt so much better. Until Sunday, when I almost burnt down my kitchen. Actually, the only thing that did burn was a pot full of oil, but believe me when I say that is scary (and smelly) enough. I was able to isolate the burning item in the middle of my kitchen (and I only have a little scar on my left hand from doing that) but I was unable to put the lid on it because the flame was almost as tall as I am. So I called the fire department for the first time.
It's not as bad as it looked at first, but I sure have to clean the entire place, wash all the dishes (and maybe clothes) and paint the entire apartment (which I was planning to do this summer but not in January.Brrrr.)
Oh, and I couldn't believe how many spider webs I have here! You can see them all very clearly now for they are all black. It felt like living in a huge spider web the last days.
