Idiot, Akamaru's going to fight, too.
I am still busy editing Naruto. And sometimes it is really tricky. Especially, when Akamaru is hiding behind a wall of Japanese letters and you have no idea how that little dog looks like, yet you have to get rid off the text and *fill-in-the-blank*.
So, I did a google search. And next to this (at least a little) helpful picture, I also found this not exactly helpful one.
And of course, I also came across yet another quiz:

Which Naruto Character are You?

spring time
What a great day! It finally warmed up today and I was able to wear a t-shirt (in Hamburg! in March!) while being out at the stable. Needless to say, I decided to pretend work, house cleaning and my poor TV that I broke last night don't exist and spent all day with the horses.
And I also had a great time reading Stewart's Question Answering while drinking my morning coffee.
How can a day be bad after such a good start?

beautifully polished flowers
On my way to Bojan I had Morcheeba's Otherwise on repeat today because of this part:
When i open my mouth
I'm so brutally honest
And i can't expect that kind of love from you
When you open your mouth
Your teeth are beautifully polished
And i can't extract the pain you're going through
No i can't explain
The pain you're going through
Which not only reminded me of the beginnig of Cibo Matto's flowers
I want certain words more than a thousand flowers
but also: beautifully polished (!) is just the best to sing out loud.
And that's all I have to say today.

ladies night
I am still smiling. And it happened more than once today that I started giggling for no apparent reason.
Last night was so much fun! A total flashback. Highschool. Woohoo!
I met with 5 of my lady friends, some of which I haven't seen in years. We all moved to Hamburg in the last years (except for one, but she is moving here soon) and decided it's time to have a girls' night again.
Boy, oh boy, I am so not used to having more than one girl around at the same time, let alone a night with only girls! My usual conversation with friends include at least one of the topics like: games, the last movie you watched (stoned and hey, i don't remember a bit!), which camera system/ lens would be best for the job or what's new on the web.
Not last night, no. I felt more like being in a Sex and the City episode. It's amazing how fast my girls manoeuver through the female topics.
From hair...
J: F. suggested I should get a new haircut. You think so, too? Maybe I should.
D: Just becasue he said so?! Don't be silly! Please tell me, you are not doing that!
...to how to best remove your pubic hair in a nanosecond. And the giggling and high voices! Awesome. I could only sit and stare in amazement (eyes and mouth wide open).
Some things just do not change. And I am glad they don't.
Girls' night will hopefully occur regularly from now on.

and i haven't even read it

You're Siddhartha!
by Hermann Hesse
You simply don't know what to believe, but you're willing to try
anything once. Western values, Eastern values, hedonism and minimalism, you've spent
some time in every camp. But you still don't have any idea what camp you belong in.
This makes you an individualist of the highest order, but also really lonely. It's
time to chill out under a tree. And realize that at least you believe in
ferries.

snow pictures from the blog

The day I wrote about the snow, I went for a walk with a friend and we took some pictures. I've been meaning to post them for a while now. It just takes longer if you don't have a digital camera but I finally got a few scanned today.
I was wearing way too much that day and I felt like a stuffed animal with all those layers of warming fabrics. It was kinda hard to move.
There's a new photography section: pictures from the blog

it won't get worse than 25
me: well, i am almost 30, dear. i am getting old.
he: i'm 25.
me: oh my, 25 is so young.
pause.
me: but you know, 25 is a big year. that's when relationships start to get serious.
he: don't tell me!
giggle.
he: so, you must be in a long-term relationship by now.
me: no, i am not. why?
he: aren't you starting to worry?!
giggle.giggle.laugh.cough.
me: ok, i'm back, sorry. what did you just say?
listening to Console's My Dog Eats Beats, which he used to have on repeat for days and which i totally hated back then but which is now one of my favourites, together at the same time was almost as good as the terrified sound of his voice.
I love it when my ex-room-mate calls me.

work and drink (or the other way around)
I have been pretty busy working lately. Which is good, because one of these days I might be able to get the big black hole (bank account) back to zero. Having friends for a visit for an entire week also kept me too busy to write in here. Flo was the perfect visitor when you have to work. He stayed for 6 days showing his portfolio around Hamburg's agencies, which means he was away most of the day, got home, grabbed a beer and started watching TV. Perfect! Needless to say, I often joined him in front of the TV. By the end of the week we felt like an old married couple. Including the not having sex part you always hear about. And he totally cracked me up when I walked him to the train-station and he noticed a mother and daughter getting out of the car, looked at me and said: "You know, I am getting to that age where I'm equally interested in mothers and daughters." We walked behind the two ladies and I just couldn't stop giggling. What adorable friends I have!
Sophie only visited for one night. We ended up getting way too drunk while having the usual girl-talk. A friend of hers was celebrating her birthday at the china lounge and as far as I can recall we weren't exactly sober when we arrived and I left the party all the sudden because I just knew that one more drink would make me pass out instantly. Which, I guess, wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't had to work the next day. At the party I met some people I hadn't seen since highschool. One is now the editor of a new magazine and I think he said something about wanting to see my portfolio. But maybe I should double-check on that before I go to his office. Sophie made it back around 6am and we chatted for a little while before I got my last two hours of sleep. When I woke up I was still intoxicated and felt sick to my stomach. I made some coffee but there was no way I could drink it. Making it just belonged to the morning routine, I guess. I decided to walk to the photo-studio where I was supposed to meet my friend, I was assisting that day. Not only to get some fresh air to sober up but also to not lose my driver license. Obviously my red eyes and my weird movements made her ask: You really think you want to work today? I did and I made it through the day. Ok, I have to admit she had to stop the car twice on our way to the job because I had to throw up. I think Andrea was at least a little impressed that I didn't even think of calling in sick. But as my dad always says: If you can party, you can work as well. Thanks, dad!
That was yesterday. For today I cancelled everything in order to get some sleep, do laundry, clean the dishes (I haven't done that for over a week now and I just had some hot chocolate in a papercup) and get the rest of the work done.
But first, I will go and get some aspirin.
