DON'T...

...ask me why I sound sleepy when you call me before noon on a Saturday. And, please, don't mention proudly that you got up hours ago. Seriously, what exactly have you achieved in the previous hours?
Thinking about it... do you remember that I have ever called you after midnight wondering why you are already in bed?

I don't mind if people call me at any time of the day (or night). But I do mind if someone tries to make me live according to their time schedule.

ebay

I have never sold or bought any item at ebay. And I never thought I would write about it at all! But thymic sent me some odd links i could not resist to post about.
And even though selling the moon is a nice idea my favourite is still the guy selling his ex-girlfriend!!
(all links in German, sorry about that! but the ex-girlfriend is filed under *dolls*!)

Instead of buying things at ebay I would rather search one of the local fleamarkets.

a night at the museum

After coming home around 2:30am this morning from the Long Museum Night I had a *real* Sunday today. I got up very late, watched silly old German movies, drank lots of coffee and tea and had friends over for dinner.

The museums I enjoyed the most last night were the Speicherstadtmuseum - I learned quite a lot about our habour - and Deichtorhallen because they opened the Japanese photography exibition I missed again for one night.
Some of the photographs were excellent, some made me smile, one or two made me wish I had taken them and a few annoyed me.

Being up all night, moving from one museum to another, surrounded by thousands of other visitors is a wonderful and unusual experience.

Every time I see old photographs it is hard for me to resist. I do not know any of the above pictured people. But I like to look at them and invent stories about the person.
And have you noticed that one is even hand-coloured?!

about
I once coloured parts of a black-and-white print. It takes forever!

Since you have asked so kindly, I made wallpaper out of my old postcards. And while I was at it, I also created a *Mina's World Starter Kit*.

Go nuts!

Because of my new obsession, I had to change the navigation to your left. If you follow the pencil you will now get to a section called *Create!*. There you will find my GNE paintings and the new stuff.

changes

I receive a magazine from my bank regulary. I never read it but they keep sending it to me. Today a headline -Changes to your insurance- caught my attention. I didn't even know about that insurance! Apparently, they pay for ...something.. when I get into an accident. But not -and that are the changes mentioned above- if the damage was caused by terrorism or WMD!!
I guess insurance companies have to do that nowadays...

The only magazines I read regulary are c't and Page.

sick

Hey, remember at the end of my last entry, when I was talking about that friend of mine who felt too sick to get in the car? Well, I feel the same way now. Actually, I am okay most of the time until shortly before I have to throw up again which is every hour. More details than you wanted to hear? Okay, I'll stop now.

still here

I am not dead, neither have I been abducted by aliens as suggested on ConFab last night. I simply took care of the family dog at my parents' place while they were gone for a vacation.
My parents live outside of Hamburg, about an hour away up North, in a small town or a bigger village, however you want to call it. There is not much to do, so I invited friends over for dinner on Thursday. Thursday lasted for several days. Maybe because most of the people coming over that day are the ones I go to Denmark with once a year or maybe we all just felt like gathering together.
On Thursday night a total of 13 (ten adults and three children) enjoyed dinner together. Three of us left shortly after the meal, another couple and their dog drove back home late at night/early morning. Eight spent the night. One had to go to work the next morning, the rest of us ate, drank, played, talked, went for a walk and watched TV during the day. Four people went home Friday night, three of them returned the next day. Five of us used the sauna on Saturday, everyone stayed over night. On Sunday, after cleaning up, all my friends arrived safely at their own places. Except for one, who felt too sick to be in a car and whom I gave a ride back home on Monday. And that is where Zoe and I stayed until it was time to meet my parents again on Tuesday.

Given the choice to go dancing all night or to have a good conversation with a friend (off- or online) I would almost always go with the second option.
