a night at the museum

After coming home around 2:30am this morning from the Long Museum Night I had a *real* Sunday today. I got up very late, watched silly old German movies, drank lots of coffee and tea and had friends over for dinner.

The museums I enjoyed the most last night were the Speicherstadtmuseum - I learned quite a lot about our habour - and Deichtorhallen because they opened the Japanese photography exibition I missed again for one night.
Some of the photographs were excellent, some made me smile, one or two made me wish I had taken them and a few annoyed me.

Being up all night, moving from one museum to another, surrounded by thousands of other visitors is a wonderful and unusual experience.

Oh, it was! And I forgot to mention that the truly strangest experience was to go to a museum at night after drinking a few beers. I have never done that before. And with so many people walking around at night the atmosphere is so different. At one point it felt more like a festival: Who's playing next?
